Board Member Biographies
About Jessica Bonebright:Jessica Bonebright joined the KCLS Board of Trustees in 2006. Formerly a Boeing Engineer, she has been Research Director for SPEEA since 1996, the labor union representing Boeing engineers and technical workers. She currently serves as President of the King County Labor Council.
Jessica was raised in South Dakota and graduated from San Diego State with a degree in Electrical Engineering. She loves reading, traveling and outdoor activities especially gardening, bird watching and water sports. She lives in Tukwila and has regularly used several different King County libraries since moving to the area in 1987. She feels strongly about lifelong learning and promoting the wonderful resources available at our libraries.
Lucy Krakowiak was appointed to the KCLS Board of Trustees in 2005. She is passionate about learning and believes libraries are a great resource for knowledge. When she learned of the chance to serve on the Board of Trustees she saw it as an opportunity to participate in the process of continuing to make information and ideas available to as many people as possible.
Lucy's hometown is Kailua, Oahu (Hawaii), but she has lived in Burien, WA since 1987. She works as a massage therapist specializing in CranioSacral Therapy and is also a member of the Burien City Council.
Robin McClelland was appointed to the KCLS Board of Trustees in 2012. She has a BA in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Masters Degree in Regional Planning from UNC at Chapel Hill. As a certified urban planner, she has worked with a diverse range of cities across King County and as a Principal Planner with the Puget Sound Regional Council helped advance VISION 2040 and Transportation 2040, the region's long-range growth and transportation plans.
Robin has been a KCLS patron since the mid-1980s and a Study Zone volunteer since 2009. She understands the value of offering an array of services to KCLS' culturally diverse populations and is a strong supporter of the Library's mission to provide free and open access to information to all members of the community.
Robin and her husband Keith reside in Shoreline where they help produce the North City Jazz Walk and are active in other community events. Robin is an avid reader and enjoys decorative painting as a past time.
About Rob Spitzer:
Robert Spitzer was appointed to the KCLS Board of Trustees in 2008. He agreed to serve on the Board because of his understanding that the Library System is a critical community resource that is worth supporting and strengthening.
Rob’s hometown is Los Angeles, CA, but he lives in Mercer Island, WA. He works as a business and real estate lawyer. Rob received a BA in History from Stanford and his Juris Doctor from Columbia. Some of his favorite things include his wife’s cooking, Summer in Seattle and Quirky independent films and movies with Ben Stiller or Robert DeNiro. Rob’s favorite authors are John Irving, Philip Roth, Salman Rushdie, Stephen Ambrose and John Updike.
Jim Wigfall is Vice President, Supplier Management, Boeing Shared Services Group, a 10,000-person functional unit that provides over $2.5 billion in services to other parts of the company. He was appointed to the KCLS Board of Trustees in 2009.
Born in Los Angeles and raised in a military family, Jim has lived in various cities across the United States. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics/Computer Science from the Citadel in Charleston, S.C. and a Masters degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Aerospace from the University of Tennessee. Active in the community, he has also been a member of the Board of Directors of Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle, Special Olympics Washington and is the Boeing executive representative for the National Society of Black Engineers.
His passion for reading and providing opportunities for kids were two of the reasons he agreed to serve on the Board of KCLS. Outside of work, Jim writes fiction, is an avid sports enthusiast and enjoys learning to play the piano.
