Friends of the Black Diamond Library
What do the Friends do?
The Friends of the Black Diamond Library is a dynamic group
of individuals who care about their local library. The Friends help the library
by providing funding for special programs, activities and equipment not covered
by the library budget.
Who can be a friend?
Anyone can join the Friends of the Black Diamond Library. Officers
meet several times per year to plan fundraising and social events. Members support
the Friends primarily through fundraising, either helping at events or donating
time or money.
Do I have to come to meetings if I join?
Not if you don’t want to. Not all of our Friends come
to the planning meetings. They help out in other ways, such as contributing
money or materials, making phone calls, writing letters or attending special
events.
What sorts of activities do the Friends
run??
The annual Plant/Used Book Sale is our number one moneymaker.
People from all over Black Diamond contribute: plants, books, baked goods, quality
white elephant items and anything else that might sell quickly. The Plant/Used
Book sale takes place every spring. If you would like to donate, please contact
the Black Diamond Library.
If you would like to join or hear more about the Friends of the Black Diamond
Library, please visit the Library.
