Bellevue Regional Library Construction Project


The Details:
Planning for the Bellevue Library parking expansion project is underway.

  • Project Status: In progress
  • Estimated Start of Project: 2009
The Original Plan Includes:
  • Parking expansion, to increase the number of available parking spaces.
  • A 5,000 square foot community meeting room.
  • Upkeep and maintenance of the library during the next decade.

Potential Modifications:
Conduct a site-use study to develop a plan for the additional parking and remove the community meeting room from the Plan. This is due to the community meeting rooms that will be available adjacent to the library at the new Performing Arts Center (PACE) and other nearby developments.
Before any alterations are made, they must be formally approved by the Board.

Most Recent Update:

April 2008
KCLS has received statements of qualifications from four consultant teams for the planning and design of the parking expansion project. Qualifications and references will be reviewed by KCLS staff and interviews will be scheduled. The interview panel will include the KCLS Board, Bellevue Library Advisory Board and KCLS staff.
