New Black Diamond Library Opening Celebration
The Details:
Construction of the new 5,000 square-foot Black Diamond Library is underway. Funding to build the new library was budgeted prior to the 2004 Capital Bond, and will come out of operating funds. The 2004 Capital Bond funds will pay for ongoing maintenance and upkeep once the library is open. The new library is being constructed together with four other libraries as a design-build project, which has more cost-assurance than traditional building methods as the cost of the project is established prior to the start of construction.
The new library will include more materials, computers, space for children and teens and a community meeting room.
- Project Status: In progress
- New Library Location: 24707 Roberts Drive.
- Expected Completion Date: May 2008
- Contractor: BNBuilders, Inc.
- Architect: Miller-Hull Partnership
- Service: The current library will remain open until construction of the new library is complete.
