Carnation Library

The Details:
Planning for the new 5,000 square foot Carnation Library at the site of the existing facility is underway. The new library is being constructed together with four other libraries as a design-build project, which has more cost-assurance than traditional building methods as the cost of the project is established prior to the start of construction.

The new library will include more materials, computers, space for children and teens and a community meeting room.

• Expected Construction Start Date: Construction of the new library is anticipated to begin May 5, following the completion of the Fall City Library.
• New Library Address: Existing site, at 4804 Tolt Ave.
• Contractor: BNBuilders, Inc.
• Architect: Miller-Hull Partnership.

Most Recent Update:

April 2008
The closing date for the Carnation Library has been postponed until a building permit is approved by the city. There are street frontage improvement issues that need to be addressed with the city before a building permit can be issued.
