The Details;

The planning and design process to expand the Federal Way Regional Library is currently underway, several years ahead of the proposed start date (2010). The plan includes a 9,000 square foot expansion of the current 25,000 square foot library, as well as more materials, computers, wireless access and space for children and teens. The plan also includes upkeep and maintenance of the library during the next decade.

Highlights:

View the preliminary floor plans for the Federal Way Regional Library expansion, which were presented by the team from Mithun Architects at a public meeting on October 29, 2007. The plans are preliminary and have not yet been finalized.

Most Recent Update:

April 2008
Design development plans were completed and cost estimates indicate that the project is within budget. The consultants held a pre-application meeting with the Federal Way Building and Community Planning staff to discuss the construction documents and address any regulatory issues.
