Library2Go! Mobile Computer Labs

Details:
Four new mobile computer labs are joining the KCLS fleet of Library2Go! outreach vehicles. These new vehicles will expand services currently provided by KCLS' Techlab. Each vehicle will have seven patron computer stations, a printer, and a 32" wall monitor for demonstrations. Similar to the Library2Go! mini-bookmobiles, the Library2Go! mobile computer labs will rotate between KCLS' 47 libraries, with different library staff using the vehicles each week for outreach in their community. The workshop programs presented on the vehicles will focus on using KCLS online resources. During the initial service launch, the target audience for service will be school-aged children, people learning English, and adults with various interests. Community centers, childcare centers, schools, low-income housing and senior centers are all potential locations for this service. The computers on-board will have the same software as what is in the library building.
