Work on the staff room was recently completed and the contractors are now working on the children’s area. The project will take about 60 days to complete and the library will remain open during the work.

Progress continues on the planning process for storefront and interior enhancements to the Library Connection @ Southcenter. Furniture and fixtures have been ordered and a contractor will soon be secured. Work is anticipated to start in the fall and the library will remain open during construction.
August 2011
Progress continues on the planning process for storefront and interior enhancements to the Library Connection @ Southcenter. The project designs were approved by Westfield Mall management and the City of Tukwila has issued a building permit. The bid documents are anticipated to be approved shortly. Work is anticipated to start in the fall and the library will remain open during construction.
July 2011
Design work is currently underway on the new storefront for the Library Connection @ SouthCenter, per mall management requirements. The specifications and bid set drawings are being refined. The overall design was approved by shopping center management and a permit was received from the City of Tukwila. Renovation work is anticipated to start in the fall and the library will remain open during construction.
