This will be the sixth annual Art Show at the North Bend Library by the Mount Si Artist Guild. The guild is a nonprofit organization and consists of Snoqualmie Valley men and women who gather to foster and promote visual fine arts through encouragement, education, workshops and events. They meet the third Saturday of each month at the Mount Si Senior Center at 9:15am.

Come for a monthly film series that will shine a spotlight on community issues affecting teens. The films will supply you with information about what is really going on in the world.
May's documentary will be ReGeneration. Beyond the labels of "Generation X" and "Generation Y," the feature documentary film ReGeneration takes an uncompromising look at the issues facing today's youth and young adults, and the influences that perpetuate our culture's apathetic approach to social and political causes.

Goats, chickens and cows were common in cities until the early 1900s, at which time, all across America, they were banished to the rural outlands. Today, the idea of keeping chickens and goats in an urban environment is just beginning to be accepted. How did these changes in attitude come to pass? Sequential Storytelling - The Graphic Novelist's Perspective

Learn how graphic novels are written and produced from this independent comic book author and artist. Her graphic novels include: Faminelands: The Carp’s Eye, Living Stone, Mareton’s Curse and Lure. Indulge your visual appetite with Food, Glorious Food–a survey on the theme of food in art. The Early Literacy Parties in Spanish are eight sequential workshops designed for Spanish-speaking families to prepare their children for Kindergarten. The Fiestas help parents and caregivers teach children the basic learning skills they’ll need before they can actually read and write. KCLS provides families with information about Early Literacy, free books in Spanish, craft materials, snacks, beverages and the opportunity to socialize with other Spanish speaking families. These sessions are free.

China and Its Neighbors: A Lecture/Discussion with Ambassador Darryl N. Johnson

Come for the second World Speaker Forum program with Ambassador Darryl N. Johnson, who will share his insights and observations on the second biggest economy in the world, China, in light of the appointment of its new government leadership. He will discuss its economic and security relations with neighboring countries, the need for multilateral cooperation and the impact of its rapid rise.
Ambassador Johnson has had a long and distinguished career as a Foreign Service Officer, culminating in his service as U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand. His previous assignments included Mumbai, Hong Kong, Moscow,Beijing and Warsaw. He served as the first U.S. Ambassador to Lithuania, was the Director of the American Institute in Taiwan, and held a variety of positions in Washington. He speaks Thai, Chinese (Mandarin), Russian, Polish and some Lithuanian.

Each or the “Fiestas” offer eight sequential workshops designed for Spanish-speaking families to prepare their children for Kindergarten. The Fiestas help parents and caregivers teach children the basic learning skills they’ll need before they can actually read and write.
In each of the ”Fiestas” series, KCLS provides families with information about Early Literacy, free books in Spanish, craft materials, snacks, beverages and the opportunity to socialize with other Spanish speaking families. These sessions are free.

Mount Si Artist Guild Art Exhibition

This will be the sixth annual Art Show at the North Bend Library by the Mount Si Artist Guild. The guild is a nonprofit organization and consists of Snoqualmie Valley men and women who gather to foster and promote visual fine arts through encouragement, education, workshops and events. Explore, play and learn at KidsQuest Children’s Museum free through your library! KCLS and KidsQuest are partnering to offer complimentary admission to the museum. This museum pass allows entry for up to 2 people, limited to 1 pass per family each 90 days. It is valid for use on the registration date. KidsQuest is located in Factoria Mall, 4091 Factoria Blvd SE, Bellevue, WA 98006. KidsQuest is closed on Mondays during the school year but is open on some Bellevue School District holiday Mondays. Mount Si Artist Guild Art Exhibition

This will be the sixth annual Art Show at the North Bend Library by the Mount Si Artist Guild. The guild is a nonprofit organization and consists of Snoqualmie Valley men and women who gather to foster and promote visual fine arts through encouragement, education, workshops and events. They meet the third Saturday of each month at the Mount Si Senior Center at 9:15am.
