For Spanish-speaking families with children ages newborn to 5.
Cada serie de “Fiestas” se ofrecen una secuencia de 8 talleres diseñados para que las familias de habla hispana preparen a sus hijos para el Kindergarten. The Early Literacy Parties in Spanish are eight sequential workshops designed for Spanish-speaking families to prepare their children for Kindergarten. The Fiestas help parents and caregivers teach children the basic learning skills they’ll need before they can actually read and write. KCLS provides families with information about Early Literacy, free books in Spanish, craft materials, snacks, beverages and the opportunity to socialize with other Spanish speaking families. These sessions are free.

Mount Si Artist Guild Art Exhibition

Mount Si Artist Guild Art Exhibition

This will be the sixth annual Art Show at the North Bend Library by the Mount Si Artist Guild. The guild is a nonprofit organization and consists of Snoqualmie Valley men and women who gather to foster and promote visual fine arts through encouragement, education, workshops and events. They meet the third Saturday of each month at the Mount Si Senior Center at 9:15am.

Mount Si Artist Guild Art Exhibition

This will be the sixth annual Art Show at the North Bend Library by the Mount Si Artist Guild. The guild is a nonprofit organization and consists of Snoqualmie Valley men and women who gather to foster and promote visual fine arts through encouragement, education, workshops and events. They meet the third Saturday of each month at the Mount Si Senior Center at 9:15am.

Play & Learn Chinese

Newborn to age 5 with adult.
Have lots of fun learning, reading and sharing! The Play & Learn group will be conducted primarily in English but the facilitator is a bilingual English/Chinese speaker.

Computer Class: Internet Level 1

Learn how to browse the Internet, type web site addresses, understand basic Internet vocabulary and use search engines. Prerequisite: Ability to use the mouse. Registration required online, by telephone or at any KCLS library. If you are on the waiting list, please do not come to the class unless we call you to confirm. The class will be taught on library computers, not on your own laptop.

Time to Duel! Yu-Gi-Oh Club

Middle school and high school students, bring your decks and trade binders to the library! There will be open play tables, single elimination tournaments and books. New to the game? Get help at the instruction table.

Game On!

Middle and high school ages only.
Come the first Tuesday of each month in the meeting room to play board and video games while you nosh on pizza. Stay for five minutes or play for two hours. Video games feature a wide assortment for X-box, Nintendo DS, Game Cube and DDR. Each month a new and unusual board game will be featured.

EARLY LITERACY PARTIES IN SPANISH / FIESTAS DE ALFABETIZACIÓN TEMPRANA EN ESPAÑO

For Spanish-speaking families with children ages newborn to 5.
Cada serie de “Fiestas” se ofrecen una secuencia de 8 talleres diseñados para que las familias de habla hispana preparen a sus hijos para el Kindergarten. Los programas de Alfabetización Temprana ayudan a los padres y cuidadores a enseñar a los niños las habilidades básicas que necesitaran antes de aprender a leer y escribir. KCLS ofrece a las familias información sobre Alfabetización temprana, libros gratuitos en español, materiales para las manualidades, bocadillos, bebidas y la oportunidad de socializarse con otros padres hispanos. Los talleres son gratuitos.

The Early Literacy Parties in Spanish are eight sequential workshops designed for Spanish-speaking families to prepare their children for Kindergarten. The Fiestas help parents and caregivers teach children the basic learning skills they’ll need before they can actually read and write. KCLS provides families with information about Early Literacy, free books in Spanish, craft materials, snacks, beverages and the opportunity to socialize with other Spanish speaking families. These sessions are free.
