Fiestas de Alfabetización/Early Literacy Parties

Valley View Library

Each or the “Fiestas” offer eight sequential workshops designed for Spanish-speaking families to prepare their children for Kindergarten. The Fiestas help parents and caregivers teach children the basic learning skills they’ll need before they can actually read and write.
In each of the ”Fiestas” series, KCLS provides families with information about Early Literacy, free books in Spanish, craft materials, snacks, beverages and the opportunity to socialize with other Spanish speaking families. These sessions are free.

Fiestas de Alfabetización/Early Literacy Parties

Valley View Library

Each or the “Fiestas” offer eight sequential workshops designed for Spanish-speaking families to prepare their children for Kindergarten. The Fiestas help parents and caregivers teach children the basic learning skills they’ll need before they can actually read and write.
In each of the ”Fiestas” series, KCLS provides families with information about Early Literacy, free books in Spanish, craft materials, snacks, beverages and the opportunity to socialize with other Spanish speaking families. These sessions are free.

This will be the sixth annual Art Show at the North Bend Library by the Mount Si Artist Guild. The guild is a nonprofit organization and consists of Snoqualmie Valley men and women who gather to foster and promote visual fine arts through encouragement, education, workshops and events. They meet the third Saturday of each month at the Mount Si Senior Center at 9:15am.

Impressionist Gardens

The Impressionists revolutionized art by painting out of doors. Seascapes, landscapes and gardens became popular themes and continue to delight us today. This program will present over 100 paintings of gardens by the Impressionists, Post-Impressionists and the Nabis group. The Git-Hoan Dancers (People of the Salmon) Alaskan Tsimshian Dance Group

These dancers represent a culture of Alaskan Native people, the Tsimshian Tribe from Metlakatla, Alaska. David Boxley, nationally renowned carver and culture bearer formed the Git Hoan Dancers in his efforts to revive, practice and share the Tsimshian way of life that was once forbidden. The group shares legends and stories through song and dance while showcasing the magnificence and creativity of our art, demonstrating a variety of articulated & carved masks, headdresses, drums, rattles and much more.

Held outside in Town Square and sponsored by the Burien Library and the City of Burien Parks & Recreation Department.

In each of their unique shows, Geoff Larson and members of the Bushwick Book Club Seattle write and play original music inspired by literary works. Join the club as they interpret the works of Michael Pollan (Botany of Desire, The Omnivore’s Dilemma). Each musician will not only perform their original music, but explain the process they used to write their songs.

Mount Si Artist Guild Art Exhibition

This will be the sixth annual Art Show at the North Bend Library by the Mount Si Artist Guild.
