Impressionist Gardens

The Impressionists revolutionized art by painting out of doors. Seascapes, landscapes and gardens became popular themes and continue to delight us today. This program will present over 100 paintings of gardens by the Impressionists, Post-Impressionists and the Nabis group. Insights on Impressionist techniques of capturing the changing effects of light and color, brushstroke and composition will be discussed. A selection of books and DVDs will be available for checkout following the program.

Library2Go! at Northshore Fire Station

The KCLS L2G vanps will be at this community event! Free pancake breakfast (9-11am), a health and safety fair and live firefighter demonstrations. Dining at Downton Abbey: A Trial by Fork

Food historian Tames Alan brings to life her vast knowledge of the era in which Downton Abbey takes place. Does a formal dinner setting become a trial by fork? Have you forgotten your good manners? Come explore a time of forgotten elegance, when one changed into dinner clothes and chose jewelry to reflect candlelight, a time where setting the table was an art and serving a meal was a well-choreographed dance.

Introduction to Origami for Adults

Origami artists from PAPER will be teaching a two session introduction to origami for adults at the Redmond Library. In this class learn the basic folds, read origami diagrams and create a few wonderfully fun pieces to take home. All models will be simply explained and easy to fold. Materials will be provided by PAPER.
