Volunteers at the Covington Library
"It's a jungle out there" was the slogan for Windermere
Real Estate -- Kent's "Community Service Day" at the Covington Library.
Led by Managing Broker Jim Carroll, 38 agents and staff from the office spent
a beautiful, sunny Friday tackling some spring gardening and grounds work on
the Library's vast estate. With plenty of rain and cool weather this spring,
the plants have been thriving, and projects included pruning the hedges surrounding
the parking lot, weeding 250 feet of our northern boundary, deadheading rhododendrons
and miscellaneous weeding. The group carefully planned their workday, from disposal
of truckloads of trimmings and weeds, to traffic control, to treats for patrons.
In addition, the group treated the library staff to lunch! Jim Vik, KCLS maintenance
worker, was on hand to assist, supervise and enjoy seeing a month of work polished
off in just a day by a group of enthusiastic library supporters. Many thanks
to the folks at Windermere-Kent for a job well done!
