About the Library
Federal Way Library opened in December 1991 and is the larger of two libraries in the city of Federal Way. The 25,000 square foot building houses a collection of more than 180,000 items. Forty computers, most with internet access, are available for public use. The library serves residents of southern King County and northern Pierce County with a full range of library services including programs of interest to all ages, and classes in the use of the library and its computers.
The expanded and renovated Federal Way Library reopened in June 2010. The $8.1 million plan included a 9,500 square foot expansion of the current 25,000 square foot library, as well as more materials, computers, wireless access and space for children and teens. The library has a large meeting room, a conference room, two quiet study rooms and three group study rooms. More information about the renovation.
