Timothy Egan – Keynote Speaker
A dynamic speaker, Tim Egan won the National Book Award, considered the nation's highest literary honor, for The Worst Hard Time. A New York Times Bestseller, the book recounts the stories of the people who lived through the Depression-era Dust Bowl.

He is also the author of The Good Rain: Across Time and Terrain in the Pacific Northwest, Lasso the Wind: Away to the New West, Breaking Blue, and The Winemaker’s Daughter.

Mr. Egan worked as a correspondent and as a national enterprise reporter for The New York Times and is currently a guest Op-Ed columnist. In 2001, he won the Pulitzer Prize as part of a team of reporters who wrote the series How Race Is Lived in America.

Nancy Pearl – Emcee
Since the release of the best-selling Book Lust in 2003, More Book Lust in 2005, Book Crush in 2007, and the Librarian Action Figure modeled in her likeness, Nancy Pearl has become a rock star among readers and the tastemaker people turn to when deciding what to read next.

Having worked as a librarian and bookseller in Detroit, Tulsa, and Seattle, Pearl's knowledge of and love for books is unmatched. The former Executive Director of the Washington Center for the Book, she celebrates the written word by speaking at bookstores and libraries across the country and appearing on local community television and on NPR affiliate stations KUOW in Seattle and KWGS in Tulsa.
