What is this book about?
This book is about a young girl named Gemma Doyle, who's life, when she turns 16, takes a turn that as the title states, is both great and terrible. Following her mother's death, she is sent to a finishing school where she must enlist the help of her friends to unravel the mystery of her mother's past. What do you like/dislike about it?
One of the things I liked best about this book is that the author used elements from multiple genres and combined them all in one. A Great and Terrible Beauty is both adventurous and romantic, a fantasy and mystery that will have readers turning pages like there's no tormorrow.
