Booklists: Begining Readers

Emergent Readers- Picture Books Emergent readers are just starting out on the path to reading.  These pre-readers range in age from 3-5 years old and know most letters of the alphabet, may recognize a few words and memorize text or “pretend” read favorite stories.  This list features books with large font size, repeated text, rhyming, and prediction while still focusing on a narrative story in a familiar, large picture book format.
