Friends of the Kingsgate Library & Volunteers Opportunities

The Friends of the Kingsgate Library began contributing to the quality of service at Kingsgate at its inception in 1973. Their purpose has been to support and meet special needs of the library. They have sponsored many programs for all ages, conducted art shows regularly, and provided the library with special equipment.

Members of the Friends are users of the library who wish to be involved in their library. Board meetings take place monthly (except July, August, & December) in the library multi-purpose room. On going and annual book sales remain their main fund raising activity. You are welcome to contribute by joining the friends or to become more actively involved as a Friends board member.

The Adopt-a-Shelf program is another opportunity for volunteer work. Keeping a section of shelves in order is the goal of this program. Adopt-a-shelf can be done any time the library is open, allowing for flexible individual scheduling. Ask at the information desk for more details.
