Temporary Location & Hours for Construction
The Kirkland Library will be closed beginning Sunday, January
25, for construction
of the 4,000 square foot expansion of the library.
A temporary site will open on Monday, February 2, at Parkplace Books, offering
a book drop, holds pick-up area, wireless access, six computer terminals and
a small browsing collection. This site will operate throughout construction.

The Kirkland Library temporary location in Park Place will close at 5pm on Thursday, December 3.
Please join us for the reopening celebration of the main library located at 308 Kirkland Avenue
on Saturday, December 5, 10am.

Will there be library service during construction?
Temporary library services will available to patrons beginning Monday,
February 2, 2009 at Parkplace Books, located at 348 Parkplace Center, Kirkland.
A book drop, holds pick-up area, wireless access, six computer terminals and
a small browsing collection will be available. The site will operate through
the duration of construction Monday-Saturday 10am-8pm and Sunday Noon-5pm.
Patrons also are welcome to use nearby full-service libraries in Kingsgate, Redmond, Bellevue or Bothell.
Where will children’s Story Times be held?
Story Times will be held beginning in February on most Tuesday and Wednesday
mornings at Northlake Unitarian Universalist Church, located at 308 Fourth
Avenue S, Kirkland. The Kingsgate and Redmond libraries also will be offering
additional Story Times.

How long will Construction Last?
The library is anticipated to reopen in December 2009.
