Words on Wheels

Let "Words on Wheels" bring the library to you!

The Words on Wheels program brings library materials to people in adult family homes or group homes who can't get to the library. Library Volunteers help to make this service possible. Interested in volunteering?

How it Works:

The Library2Go! Traveling Library Center staff visit once a month, bringing materials you have requested. Or, let us make suggestions and selections for you.

Words on Wheels brings...

  • Books in Regular or Large Print
  • Audio Books
  • Music CDs
  • Paperbacks
  • Magazines
  • Video Tapes
  • DVDs

To apply for service or to volunteer to deliver for the program, call 425-369-3456, or toll free 1-877-905-2008.

Seattle residents may wish to check Seattle Public Library Home Page for Mobile Services programs.

Outreach

Volunteer

Would you like to share your love of reading with someone who cannot use the library?

Our volunteers are at least 18 years old, have reliable transportation which they use to deliver materials, and agree to select, deliver, and return library materials to at least one shut-in patron at least once a month, for one year. Training is provided and takes about an hour. The time commitment is about 2-4 hours a month.

For more information contact Susan LaFantasie at 425-369-3235 or 1-877-905-2008. We are temporarily unable to bring on new Outreach volunteers. Please check back later.
