About the Event
Now in its 20th year, the Literary Lions Gala is the premier event for readers.
The Gala is a special evening to meet talented authors, savor fabulous food and wine and indulge in your favorite subject: books.

The Literary Lions Gala celebrates the joy of reading, showcases our library's resources and raises funds for reading, literacy and library programs.
Proceeds from the event generate funding for vital programs provided to more than 200,000 children, youth, families and adults throughout the King County Library System.

Best-selling and award-winning author Dennis Lehane will be the keynote author. His new book, Live by Night, was just released and garnered rave reviews. He has published nine novels, a collection of stories and a play. Three of his novels – Mystic River, Gone Baby Gone and Shutter Island – have been adapted into award-winning films.

Favorite librarian and book reviewer Nancy Pearl will emcee the event and 30 popular Northwest authors will be featured. Books will be available for purchase and signing. Tickets for Author Salons will be sold.
