Mercer Island Community Information

The city of Mercer Island, nestled on an island in Lake Washington between Seattle and Bellevue, holds its own character. It has been a popular residential community for many leading figures in business, banking, medicine and other industries since the 1950s. Mercer Island is known for its commitment to high quality education, and families comprise much of the Island population of 21,000. Islanders participate in politics, also keeping close watch on city and school issues.

Mercer Island's citizens and visitors enjoy the many parks on the island, and boating is, naturally, a popular pastime. Luther Burbank Park, named for the well know American horticulturist, is the scene for summer music concerts and plays.
