NetMaster Program

What is the NetMaster Program?
The NetMaster Program is an excellent opportunity for you to teach library patrons how to use computers, software and the Internet in KCLS libraries. The program prepares enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers as NetMasters to help achieve our goal of providing free and relevant computer instruction to patrons. Instruction takes place in group classes or One-on-One Assistance sessions at most KCLS library branches.
KCLS staff develops class manuals and training exercises for the NetMaster Program. Explore public training materials below:

What Qualifications Do I Need?
Your enthusiasm to become a NetMaster is the most important thing! Volunteers should have basic knowledge in the area where they plan to teach, but they don't need to be computer experts. What's most important is attitude: patience, kindness and the ability to explain computer information in a simple, clear fashion. NetMaster applicants must be at least 18 years old.
How Do I Become a NetMaster Volunteer?
1. Click here to view the current NetMaster Volunteer Opportunities. Note: wait lists exist for some libraries.
2. When you are ready to apply, click the Sign Up button to the right of the Volunteer Opportunities list and fill out the online application as completely as possible. Please make a note of your username and password. If you need to complete your volunteer application at a later time go to www.myvolunteerpage.com, log-in using the credentials you created and click on the My Profile tab to complete.
3. Look for an email from "postmaster@volunteer2mail.com" on behalf of Felix Reyes. The email contains instructions on the remaining steps and links to important documents.
4. PRINT the KCLS Signature Forms and return your completed forms to KCLS.
KCLS volunteers must be able to pass a Request for Conviction Criminal Background History Record (RCW 10.97). We are unable to accept applicants with any form of conviction for abuse of a minor or vulnerable adult.
