WA Charitable Solicitations & Trusts
This site provides information about charities, charitable trusts and the Charitable
Solicitations Program in Washington State. It also includes a report on commercial
fundraisers and the percentage of money they collect that goes to the charity.
4Culture
4Culture is King County's cultural services agency that continues the work
of the King County Arts Commission, Public Art Commission and the heritage
programs of the Landmark Commission. It has four programs for funding and
partnerships: Arts 4Culture; Heritage 4Culture; Preservation 4Culture; and
Public Art 4Culture.
ArtsFund
ArtsFund expands support for non-profit arts organizations in King and Pierce
Counties, Washington. It is also an advocate on a wide range of issues important
to the arts.

Eastside Helps
The communities of Bellevue, Kirkland, Issaquah, Mercer Island and Redmond have collaborated with the Eastside Human Services Forum to provide information and resources and to help local citizens make connections to “get help” and “give help.”
Executive Alliance
The Executive Alliance is a membership association whose mission is to promote
a powerful nonprofit sector supporting vibrant communities and a thriving
economy. On October 1, 2004, they assumed the management of the programs
of The Evergreen State Society.
Executive Service Corps of Washington
The Executive Service Corps was established to improve the infrastructure and
management of nonprofit organizations in the Puget Sound area. Volunteer
consultants with proven reality-based problem-solving skills help nonprofits
address their most critical management issues.
Humanities Washington
Humanities Washington is a nonprofit organization and public foundation providing
cultural and educational programs to the people of Washington State. They
support public programs that have as their primary purpose the presentation
of insights gained from the humanities. They offer three types of grants:
Quick Grants, Project Grants and Documentary Film & Video Grants.

The aim of the Nancy Bell Evans Center is to enhance the understanding and
vitality of the nonprofit sector through research, education and community
engagement.
Nonprofit Assistance Center
This Center is a training and consulting resource that emphasizes working with
low income communities and communities of color by strengthening the organizations
that serve them. They provide technical assistance, consulting and workshops.
Nonprofit Center of South Puget Sound
The Nonprofit Center is a 501(C)(3) organization formed to strengthen nonprofit
organizations for a better community. It is located in Tacoma and serves
the South Puget Sound area including Pierce, Kitsap, Mason, South King and
Thurston Counties.
Northwest Development Officers Association
An organization of people committed to fundraising and philanthropy.
Npower Seattle
NPower is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping other nonprofits use
information technology to better serve their communities. Any 501(c)(3) charity
operating in King, Pierce or Snohomish County is eligible for NPower's services.
The only exceptions are K-16 schools and houses of worship.
Philanthropy Northwest
Philanthropy Northwest is the former Pacific Northwest Grantmakers Forum. They
are a professional association of people involved in making grants and they
host conferences, meetings and workshops.
Puget Sound Grantwriters Association
This local association promotes effective grantseeking and fosters connections
among grantseekers, nonprofits and funders. They provide bi-monthly luncheon
meetings as well as training seminars and conferences.

Seattle's Office of Arts & Cultural
Affairs
This Office was formerly the Seattle Arts Commission. Their Web site includes
their current calls for artists and open funding programs and is an entryway
to financial and technical support for artists and arts organizations.
Social Justice Fund Northwest
ATR is a membership-based foundation promoting "a more equitable, just
and environmentally sound society." The focus of their grants is progressive,
social justice issues and organizations in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana
and Wyoming.
Social Venture Partners
A group which "seeks to develop philanthropy and volunteerism to achieve
positive social change in the Puget Sound region."
Taproot Foundation in Seattle
The Taproot Foundation has an award-winning Service Grant program that provides millions of dollars worth of pro bono services to help local nonprofits increase their effectiveness.
United Way of King County
United Way of King County is a community nonprofit organization that works
with numerous partners to develop innovative ways to create long-lasting,
positive changes in people's lives. They recruit and train volunteers for
nonprofit agencies and provide volunteer resources in the area of management
and technical assistance, training and board leadership.
University
of Washington Fundraising Management
This eight-month evening certificate program provides an understanding of fundraising
principles. It covers basic skills in marketing, cultivation of planned and
major gifts, management and finance for fundraising, and grant proposal writing.
University of Washington Nonprofit Management
This nine-month certificate program offers intensive weekend training in the
most important areas of nonprofit management: leadership and communication
skills, strategic planning, financial management, resource development, marketing
and public relations.
Volunteer
Chore Services
Volunteer Chore Services (VCS) is committed to helping elders & adults
with disabilities remain independent in their own homes. The services are provided
at no charge for those individuals who cannot afford to pay for assistance
and do not qualify for paid chore assistance.
WA State Dept of Commerce
The WA State Dept of Commerce
can connect local jurisdictions, public utilities, ports and other entities
to assistance, funding and tools to help your local community plan and grow.
They also have many tools and programs to assist businesses.
Washington Attorneys Assisting Community
Org.
WAACO's mission is to promote community development and organizational capacity-building
in Washington State by assisting charitable and community-based nonprofit
corporations to obtain free legal assistance on business-related matters.
However, they will not provide legal representation and cannot guarantee
that they will find a volunteer attorney to help every eligible organization.
Washington Lawyers for the Arts
Washington Lawyers for the Arts (WLA) is a nonprofit service organization dedicated
to supporting the arts in Washington State by creating alliances and making
legal resources accessible to artists and arts organizations of all disciplines.

Washington Planned Giving Council
This is a professional association of people whose work includes developing,
marketing and administering charitable planned gifts in Western Washington.
They host meetings and conferences regarding planned giving topics.
Washington State Arts Commission
WSAC is the state agency charged with the growth and development of the arts
throughout Washington State. Annually, the Commission awards grants and contracts
to artists and arts organizations, adds artworks to the State Art Collection
and initiates educational programs for students of all ages.

State Housing Finance Commission
This nonprofit financing program offered by the Washington State Housing Finance
Commission assists 501(c)(3) organizations to obtain below-market interest
rates on loans to construct, purchase, rehabilitate or refinance capital
facilities. These projects include administrative offices, schools, housing,
neighborhood and day care centers, as well as job training, cultural, athletic
and social service facilities.
Washington Women's Foundation
The Washington Women's Foundation is a nonprofit organization of women who
have joined to combine their resources to address the philanthropic needs
of the community. Their purpose is to Inspire women to become leaders in
philanthropy, demonstrate the impact of large-scale, targeted grant-making
and provide education in current issues and strategies in philanthropy.
Within Reach
Within Reaches’ mission is to work to ensure optimal health for all families in Washington by
connecting them to the programs, resources and information they need to build healthy families.
They have partnerships with the Washington State Department of Health, the Department of Social& Health Services and the WIC program. Within Reach “connects families to essential health resources
through four statewide hotlines and ParentHelp123.org, an interactive website that helps families
find and apply for programs and local services available to them.”
