Friends of the Richmond Beach Library Library2G0

The Friends of the Richmond Beach Library is a nonprofit group founded in 1899 to support and promote library usage and other cultural activities for the community. With funds raised through memberships, the annual art show, and the ongoing used book sale, the Friends fund special programs and materials. These include educational assemblies for our local schools, the purchase of textbooks for esl classes, artwork and landscaping enhancements, the purchase of prize books for the early literacy program Read To Me, and the purchase of supplies and equipment not available through King County Library System funding. In 2010, the Friends contributed funds to support the purchase of the King County Library System Foundation Library2Go vans. Friends also assist with library activities and serve as volunteer recruiters and organizers for special functions.

Individual $5; Family $10; Sustaining $50. Your gift is tax-deductible.
If you're interested in joining, please contact the Richmond Beach Library.

Book Bags for Sale
The Friends sell this book bag for $15.00 decorated with a photograph of a beachscape painting by the local artist, Thomas A. Olson. Tom’s great talent and assistance with the art show from 1969 until his death in 2005 will always be remembered and appreciated.

Vern Madsen

Holding the bag is our wonderful volunteer, Vern Madsen. Since 1991 he has helped us out on a daily basis!

City of Shoreline Library Board
The Shoreline Library Board was formed by the City Council in the spring of 1996 to act as a liaison to the King County Library System Board of Trustees, the City Council and the citizens of Shoreline. It provides information, makes recommendations relating to the Shoreline and Richmond Beach Libraries, promotes programs and serves as an advocate for library service in the community. The Library Board consists of nine members, including two non-voting youth members, from whom a chair and vice chair are elected annually.
The Library Board meets at 6:30 p.m. on the first Thursdays of January, March, May, July, September and November. The meetings are held alternately at the Shoreline Library and the Richmond Beach Library.
