Free Comic Book Day and Crazy for Comics Graphic Arts Festival
At the Shoreline Library May 2 and May 3


Free Comic Book Day takes place on Saturday May 2. Come early to get your free comic book. They will be available while supplies last starting at 11am. While at the library, you can browse our selection of great graphic novels and stay for special events scheduled Saturday and Sunday.

Find your Inner Super Hero at a special Graphic Arts weekend edition of Game On!
Saturday, May 2, Noon-2pm
Join us for this special Game On! extravaganza where all the games on the Wii, Xbox and PS2 will be inspired by popular comics. Plus, we’ll supply the snacks and the prizes for best players.
For teens

Fusion Comics Workshop with Elizabeth Guizzetti
Saturday, May 2, 2pm
Practice your artistic skills at this drawing workshop. Aspects of both American comics and Manga will be covered. Guizzetti is the Artist for ZB Publications, and artist of the indy comics Famine Lands and Out for Soul sand Cookies

Meet Graphic Artist and Author Ellen ForneyI Love Led Zeppelin book cover
Sunday, May 3, 2pm
Ellen Forney, acclaimed local cartoonist, illustrator and teacher, Ellen Forney is the author of several books, including I Love Led Zeppelin and Monkey Food: The Complete "I Was Seven in '75" Collection. The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, written by Sherman Alexie and illustrated by Forney, won the 2007 National Book Award. She will discuss where she gets her ideas and how they transform on paper.
Refreshments will be served.
