Shoreline borders Seattle on the north and is one of Washington's newest cities, having been incorporated on August 31, 1995. With a population of over 53,000, it was Washington's fifteenth largest city in 2007 and the sixth largest city in King County.

Recognized nationally for its fine educational programs, the Shoreline School District receives widespread community support. Public schools include two high schools, two middle schools, nine elementary schools and one K-8 community school and there are also several private schools.

Shoreline lies between the shores of Puget Sound and Lake Washington, enjoying both saltwater and freshwater beaches and numerous parks and playgrounds.

WHAT DOES THE SHORELINE-LAKE FOREST PARK ARTS COUNCIL DO?
The Shoreline-LFP Arts Council is a community-based arts organization whose mission is to nurture and support the arts. The Shoreline-LFP Arts Council values the arts as basic to the human spirit, as creative connections to a diverse world, and as a measure of civilization. The vision of the Council is that the arts will be a valued and integral part of the Shoreline/Lake Forest Park community thus ensuring a high quality of life for all residents and the community as a whole. Shoreline Chamber of Commerce Awards Scholarships called Dollars for Scholars  You will find an application on their website.

Shoreline PTA awards two scholarships every year. Look at their website for more information and deadlines.

Shoreline Rotary awards scholarships each year. Contact your school counselor for more information.

Pacific Northwest Scholarship Guide is a regional online resource that helps students find scholarships

The Lions Clubs offer scholarship.  Contact the local Lions club which is located in Lake City.

The Lake City Elks Lodge Post 1800, located at 14540 Bothell Way in Lake Forest Park has a scholarship program.
