Be a Study Zone Leader!

The Study Zone needs dedicated volunteers.  Use your skills in math, science, English, social studies, study methods and more!  Study Zone Leaders are volunteers who will be in participating KCLS community libraries, during Study Zone hours, to answer homework questions and direct students to additional resources.  Students, grades K-12, can “drop in” for homework help any time during Study Zone hours.

The Study Zone is a great place for students to study, do homework and get help with their questions.  Academic community service credit available for high school juniors and seniors and college students.  Training provided. Minimum Commitment: 2 hours one day per week for one academic semester (September-January or February-June).  You may renew your commitment at the end of each semester.

Applications to be a Study Zone tutor are accepted throughout the year.
If you have missed the September or February start date, please submit an application anyway. Most libraries still have openings for new tutors even after the current semester begins. If all of the tutoring positions at a particular library are full, volunteers may act as Substitute Tutors. Substitute Tutors receive priority for any tutor openings that occur during the year.

Pick up a Study Zone application from any participating community library or call Annie at 425-369-3312 for more information.  You can also download an application using the link listed below:

A complete application includes the Study Zone Application, a Disclosure Form, and a Washington State Patrol Background Check Form. All forms require Adobe Acrobat Reader
