Study Zone and Study Zone Online Volunteers

Study Zone Volunteers

The Study Zone is a homework-assistance program for elementary through high school students. The program is offered as a free service to students, grades K-12, in our libraries. Students can study, do homework and get help with their questions.

STUDY ZONE TUTORING OPPORTUNITIES

Study Zone tutors provide help in all subject areas for elementary school students and also specialize in tutoring subjects for middle and high school students (you let us know your advanced subject areas). Each tutor works with 1-5 students in a group setting. The volunteer commitment is two hours, one day per week. Tutoring is scheduled in the afternoons and evenings, Sunday through Thursday. The program is closed during all major holidays and school vacations. The minimum age to be a Study Zone tutor is 16 years old. The minimum age to be a tutor at the Youth Service Center is 21 years old.

Applications are accepted for all Study Zone locations throughout the school year. New tutor orientations are held every three to four weeks from September through June. Community service credit is available for academic and corporate funds-matching programs, and other community service requirements.Study Zone logo
