About the
Traveling Library Center
The Traveling Library Center (TLC) provides services to eligible residents
of King County who are not able to visit their community libraries.
Retirement
Homes
TLC staff visits and brings materials once a month.
Nursing Homes
Room-to-room service is provided once a month.
Words on Wheels
Delivers library materials monthly to the homebound..
Adult Family Homes
Service is provided once a month or with a deposit collection.

Individuals may apply for a card through TLC or any of the King County Library System branches or apply online . Institutional cards are available through TLC for activity directors at nursing and retirement homes.
Services
- Check Out
Generally there is no limit on the number of items that can be checked out through TLC. Books, music, and movies can be requested and reserved.
- Return
All KCLS materials may be returned to TLC or to any KCLS community library.
- Information Services
TLC and KCLS provide reference information.
- Fines No fines
are charged at retirement or nursing homes.
- Large Print Booklists
Eyefuls are annotated lists of staff selections of large print books.
- Register to Vote
