Words on Wheels

Let "Words on Wheels" bring the library to you! *

If you have difficulty walking, carrying books, seeing titles of books on shelves or are unable to drive and expect to need help for at least four months, Words on Wheels can visit you once a month! Interested in volunteering?

The Words on Wheels program of staff and volunteers bring materials to people who can't get to the library.

How it Works:

TLC staff visit once a month, bringing materials you have requested. Or, let us make suggestions and selections for you.

Words on Wheels brings...

  • Books in Regular or Large Print
  • Audio Books
  • Music CDs
  • Audio Cassettes
  • Paperbacks
  • Magazines
  • Video Tapes
  • DVDs

To apply for service or to volunteer to deliver for the program, call 425-369-3456, or toll free 1-877-905-2008.

*Must be a resident of King County, Washington and live outside the cities of Seattle, Renton, Hunts Point, Yarrow Point, or Enumclaw.

Would you like to share your love of reading with someone who cannot use the library?
Our volunteers are at least 18 years old, have reliable transportation which they use to deliver materials, and agree to select, deliver, and return library materials to at least one shut-in patron at least once a month, for one year. Training is provided and takes about an hour. The time commitment is about 2-4 hours a month.

For more information contact Susan LaFantasie at 425-369-3235 or 1-877-905-2008.

Seattle residents may wish to check Seattle Public Library Home Page for Mobile Services programs.
