Tukwila Library Transitioning Services
As Tukwila grows, fewer people visit the Tukwila Library, while nearby libraries are busier than ever. That’s why KCLS is changing the way we serve Tukwila.
On February 27, 2010, KCLS will close the current Tukwila Library and reassign library resources into the community through partnerships with the City, School District and other agencies in the community.
The library will expand services in places people already go:
The nearby Foster Library will be open nine more hours each week, with more computers.
-
Library staff will visit preschool childcare sites to help toddlers build early learning skills.
- KCLS will offer new library programs and library services at the Tukwila Community Center.
- Citizenship classes and computer programs will be available in other locations.
KCLS has worked closely with community partners to develop this new, dynamic and flexible approach to library services for the Tukwila community. For comments or details, contact Barbara at 206.242.1640.
