Working on a document on a library computer you need to continue later? Consider saving your work to the cloud! The ‘cloud’ refers to saving files long-term or using software on the Internet.
In the near future a new computer booking and print management system will discontinue the ‘P’ drive file storage. For this reason, now is an excellent time to begin using cloud services such as, Google Docs or Windows Live SkyDrive, for free long-term online storage.

Wireless Internet Access
All KCLS libraries offer wireless access. Learn more about the service and how to use it.

KCLS Network/Internet Speed
The speed of internet connections varies at each KCLS library. While most of our community libraries connect to the KCLS Service Center at an average speed of 20Mb/s, some libraries are connected at a rate of 3Mb/s or 1.5Mb/s. There is about 120 Mb/s worth of Internet bandwidth.

Speed connections vary based on usage levels. For example, a library experiencing heavy internet usage, which occurs when multiple patrons simultaneously view streaming video, may have an impact on the connection speed.

The wireless connection speed depends on the person's individual computer.
