Steps to Volunteering with KCLS

1. View all current volunteer opportunities below.

2. Click on an opportunity that interests you to see the full description.

3. If you wish to apply, follow the instructions in the listing to contact the library or System volunteer coordinator responsible for that opportunity.

4. The KCLS volunteer supervisor will send you an application via email or regular mail (your choice), or stop by your local library to pick one up.

5. Fill out the application and send it to the KCLS contact or drop it off at your local library.

6. Each KCLS volunteer opportunity requires an application with disclosure form and Washington State Criminal History Check.

7. The KCLS volunteer supervisor responsible for the opportunity will contact you when they receive notice of your cleared Criminal History Check. Please allow at least one week for this process.

8. The KCLS volunteer supervisor will schedule a meeting with you or invite you to an orientation to discuss the opportunity. Depending on the opportunity, there may be some additional requirements. If you both decide to go forward, you will agree on a schedule and you will be asked to sign the KCLS Volunteer Agreement form.

9. Welcome! We thank you for your commitment to KCLS.
